The original house is over 200 years old and was originally an important farming property, having its own well and mill it used to mill corn for the nieghbours.  The original mill can still be found at the property.

The granaries are also old reminders of an age past where crops were stored safely for the winter from mice having stone legs raising them off the ground and therefore protecting the harvest stroed within.  The structure of the granaries can be fully appreciated whilst staying in them.
